Detail of products prepared from different cereals

 

Rice

Rice flakes:

·       Flaked rice contain nutrients such as carbohydrates, fiber and iron

·       The thickness of flaked rice depend on the process of flattening

   Firstly, take the rice then parboiled, rolled, flattened and dried it to produce rice flakes

Rice noodles:

·       It is gluten free food

·    Firstly made the dough, then pressed the dough into sheets and cut the sheets into long sheets for cooking

Puffed rice:

·       Puffed rice is also called crisped rice

·       Puffed rice are formed by heating the shell of grains

·       It can also be formed by heating the kernels that are pre-steam and fried in oil

Rice flour cake:

·       The taste of this cake is like cookies

·       It is gluten free cake

·       It has tender texture

·       No need of additional gums

·       Flour, butter, rice, milk, eggs and some other ingredients are mixed and then baked

Oats

Oat milk:

·       Oat milk is the mixture of water and oats

·       Blend the mixture

·       Remove the pulp from this blending mixture

·       Get the creamy and smooth textured oat milk

Porridge:

·       Porridge is a breakfast cereal

·       Porridge is made by boiling the oats in water and milk

·       The hulled grains are steamed through rollers for the production of porridge oats

Muesli:

·       Muesli is a loose mixture of rolled oats and cornflakes

·       Added some dry fruits, nuts etc.

·       All these things are mixed in milk or yogurt according to consumer demand

Oatcake:

·       It is gluten free cake

·       Oatcake has a crumbly and crispy texture

·       It is made by the mixture of blended oats, butter and water to produce dough

·       Cut into round shapes

·       It has a tender texture

·       It has brown in color

·       It is gluten free bread

·       Oat flour, baking powder and yeast are used for the production of oat bread by the process of baking

Wheat

Cake:

·       Eggs, flour and some other ingredients are mixed well and baked

·       Cutting in different shapes

·     Some other agents such as leavening agent and baking soda also added in it for the better dough that gives better texture

Pastries:

·       Temperature is main factor that affect it so maintain it for perfect texture

·       Flour, sugar, eggs and milk are ingredients used for the production of pastries

·       Shortening agents also added in it

·       Use butter instead of oil in pastries

Bread:

·       Bread contain carbohydrates and other nutrients

·       Yeast is used in making bread for the formation of pores in bread

·       Mix the wheat flour dough, water, yeast and salt and then baked

Biscuits:

·       The texture of biscuits are crispy

·       Sweet and less salty in taste

·       Soft wheat flour dough, water, sugar and all other ingredients mixed well and then baked

Pasta:

·       It is made by using durum wheat and water by extrusion process

·       Cut in specific and in different shapes

·       Boil in water

·       It is made from semolina that gives yellow color in pasta

Noodles:

·       Noodles is an extruded product

·       Consumed as staple food in Asian countries

·       It is long and thin strips of pasta

·       It is made by unleavened wheat dough

Muffins:

·       Muffins are made in tow forms such as cupcake and flatbread

·       It has sweetened and unsweetened taste

·       Flour, egg, butter, milk, sugar and baking powder are used for making the muffins by baking

Cookies:

·       For the cookies, first made the batter to produce dough

·       Cut in specific shapes

·       Wheat flour, sugar and fat are used to made cookies

Corn

Popcorn:

·       Steam pressure is used to expand the hull

·       Salt is added to give it flavor

·       Popcorn is produced by expanding the corn kernel expands and puffs on heating

Tortillas:

·       Wheat flour is used to make it

·       Thin, flat and round shape bread

·       Made from unleavened cornmeal

Cornflakes:

·       Milled maize, malt flavor and sugar is used for making cornflakes

·       Due to rich in fiber, keeps the digestive system

·       It is breakfast cereal

·       It is made by toasting the flakes of corn
